Why Free Websites Are Bad for Everybody
If you’re serious about having a website, you should pay for it. Personally, I never like free websites:
Too many ads — These companies have to make money somehow, so they run ads: top ads, bottom ads, ads on the side columns, pop-up ads, multi pop-up ads, pup-under ads, pre-loading ads and many other ways these company can serve ads on your site.
You don’t pay for it, you don’t own it. — You don’t pay for anything, so you don’t own anything, even the content that you write. You don’t have any rights over anything. Once their operation shut down, you’ll lose traffic, readers/clients, and more importantly content.
What’s the address of your site again? — It’s “http://www.imakemoneyontrafficyoubringtoyourfreesite.com/~yourname”
They can’t keep it free, if it doesn’t make them money. — When that happens, they’ll start charging you. Don’t want to pay, you’ll lose content. Want to keep content and pay, you’ll end up with bad services.
Google, on the other hand, is doing something that only Google can; they give you a free site with no ads and the ability to make money with their Adsense program. Learn about Google Tools and Services.
